“People Singing in Ruins”

Raffia yarn, wood, 169*100 cm, 2023

Rubbing my tired eyes, I got up and sat down.

Upon the desk where I reside lies a bundle of yarn, tangled. These bundles of yarn will be cut in the same length. I habitually wind the thread around my hand to tie countless threads on diameters of 20cm, 60cm, and 80cm wooden rings. Starting with a larger diameter circle and twisting it in half to create a smaller circle of about 8cm, I eventually make a bundle of small threads. Then, I cut one side of that small circle with scissors. Now, I am ready to tie the threads on the wooden ring. I repeat this process over and over until the day comes to an end. The day has ended. Tomorrow, again, countless threads will be placed upon my hands.
